Are you still hungry from the first part of this article? In this second part, I’ll show you the other great geek cakes I found on flickr. Geek cakes related to video games and other random geek cakes that I wasn’t able to categorize. Enjoy the tasty pictures!
Video Game Cakes
Guitar Hero Cake

This is one of the game that I hear about the most these days. And the only thing on earth that could make me play with a little toy guitar for hours. If you’re a true geek, you already knew that it’s a Guitar Hero cake right ?
Super Mario Level Cake

I don’t recall seeing this level in Super Mario Bros? I’m not sure I would eat that cake though, it would be like eating Mario’s world or something… I would feel bad. From the picture’s description : “Vanilla cake with italian meringue buttercream icing”. From my taste buds : “Mmmmmmmmm!!”
NES Wedding Cake

Wow, another cake that almost looks like the real thing! And the “real thing” is an old NES. I’m really impressed about that one. There’s even the controller ports there! But again, I would really feel bad while eating that cake, it would be like eating all of my childhood! Damn I had a lot of blisters on my thumbs because of that thing!
PS2 Cake

I wasn’t a PS2 fan so I wouldn’t mind eating this one, I had a Dreamcast and a N64.
P.S. I don’t know who “Eric” is, but he’s certainly some kind of lucky guy! My birthday cakes were bough at the grocery store when I was a kid!

Other Geek Cakes
ICake

This cake is the result of an Imac who invited a cake just to drink a coffee in his apartment. Can you guess what happened after?
Death Star Cake

Ok, maybe that’s not the best looking cake of that article, but it was the first specialty cake that jenosale made (according to the caption under the picture on flickr), and because of that, it definitely belongs here. And that’s probably the only cake that I would try to make and (maybe) be successful at. AND it’s the death star! I mean… Star Wars! And if you’re interested to make it, the author posted all the steps she took for creating it.
Lego Wedding Cake

Perhaps you’re thinking that a Lego cake isn’t that geeky, but because it’s a wedding lego cake, it IS a geek cake! And it really does look tasty and you even have the little Lego figurines at the top of the cake! Nice work! Oh, and if you like Lego stuff, you can read a post I made exclusively for that : 22 Links About Lego. Cheap plug I know.
Meebo Cake

This one is for the Internet/chat geek. It’s a meebo cake featuring the star that everybody knows : Mr. Emoticon.
P.S. Don’t try to find Waldo, he’s not there!

I’ve seen some geek cakes featured in other mainstream blogs, but this is one of the best collections I have seen. I am a huge fan of decorative cakes and I watch Ace of Cakes and Amazing Wedding Cakes, plus any Food Network Challenge which has to do with cake and confectionery. It seems strange that there has not been one with the “geek cakes” theme yet.

@Ellavemia Thank you for the comment! Yea, I watch Food Network too! It’s really cool to see them make those really big cakes! Some of the them are really really really great… others are ugly but still, better than what I could do. The last ones I remember are the Disney contest and the one with the Eiffel tower and the taj mahal.
